Term 2 - Motivational Work

Motivational Work: Term 2, Week 1



  • All motivational work is set every Monday and needs to be completed by Friday, ready for marking. 
  • Please print the English and Mathematics tasks, put the pages into your Motivational Workbook and complete. 
  • Don't forget to read every night and get your Mum, Dad, Nan or Pop to sign your home reader page. 

Due: Friday, 4th May

Week 1: Suffix rule 'y' to 'i'

Week 1: Spelling 

Spelling activity = Handwriting - Write each word three times in your best handwriting.

Due: Friday,  11th May

Week 2: 'i' before 'e' 

Week 2: Multiplication 

Week 2: Spelling 

Spelling activity = Trace Around - Print your spelling words neatly. Take a coloured pen/pencil and draw an outline around the word, closely following the shapes of the letters. Close your eyes and remember the shape.

Due: Friday,  18th May

Week 3: 'i' before 'e' exceptions

Spelling activity = Pyramid - Write your words adding or subtracting one letter at a time. The result will be a pyramid shape of words.



WEEK 4 
Due: Friday,  25th May

 Week 4: Prefix 'dia'

Spelling activity = Choo-Choo Words - Write the entire list end-to-end as one long word, using different colours for different words.

Due: Friday,  1st June

Week 5: Suffix: '-ise' 

Week 5: Special Numbers 

Week 5: Spelling 

Spelling activity =Shape Words - Draw the image that comes to mind when you see your spelling word, then write your spelling word around the entire shape. You may need to write your word more than once to fit the shape. 10 words only.

TALK HOMEWORK: Choose your own persuasive topic - be passionate!

Due: Friday,  22nd June

Week 8: Suffix 'fully' 

Week 8: Problem Solving 

Spelling activity = Choo-Choo Words - Write the entire list end-to-end as one long word, using different colours for different words.
Note: Review a previous spelling list, or challenge yourself with the next level.
